As we go through the different stages of life, our experience of Christmas changes. Adulthood marks the next stage, full of responsibility, volatility, and thoughtfulness.. In fact, we see Mary model grown up faith in the opening chapters of Luke. In a rare, biblical story dominated by female perspectives, Luke details Mary's response to God's appointment as the mother of the Lord. She remains faithful to God, his law, her husband, and newborn, setting a powerful example for us all to follow. People need good examples in to flourish--so, grown ups, keep living well!

After Jesus rose from the dead, he made a few appearances. One of the most famous was a roadside conversation with Cleopas and friend as they journeyed to Emmaus. At first, they did not recognize Jesus, recounting to him his own tragic death. Crucifixion and resurrection, of course, were part of God's grand plan, spelled out in Scripture. Jesus makes this known, then himself, before he leaves his traveling companions. Both the resurrection and Scriptures serve as a vital link to God yet today.

Unlike the other religious leaders of his day, Jesus excelled at showing mercy. He looked through their sickness and sin to their needy hearts. So he invited the sick and sinner to follow him. Many did. Zacchaues stands out among them. This sinner, tax collector, and conspicuously short man first responded to Jesus' merciful gaze with a few little steps. Perhaps, God intends us to reflect the mercy of His Son.

They reflect Jesus's generosity.

Jesus is the cornerstone to the church. When Luke wrote his gospel account and sequel (Acts), he wanted his readers to be convinced of Jesus' works and committed to his work. In our skeptical and busy age, the need for conviction and commitment remain relevant. This sermon traces six key aspects of Jesus' ministry so church members better know their Savior, Messiah, and Lord.

Passage: Luke 15:1-32
Duration: 47 mins 47 secs
We look for lost keys, socks, and gift cards. God looks for lost sons and daughters. We all have the propensity to run from God or refuse His love. We are all prodigals. Fortunately, our God shows relentless love.
