We live in a self-centered world. It is a sure sign of our age. The apostle Paul warned Timothy a day would come (and was near) when the misbehavior in Ephesus would be widespread. Welcome to our world. Sadly, false teachers and egomaniacs exploit others with their antics. Paul offers another way, a way of faithfulness in life, love, and suffering. Unlike the other religious leaders of his day, Jesus excelled at showing mercy. He looked through their sickness and sin to their needy hearts. So he invited the sick and sinner to follow him. Passage: Luke 14:25-33
Duration: 41 mins 18 secs
Jesus is not looking for fans, but followers. He is not as interested in decisions as disciples. Those who chose to follow Jesus must do the hard work of counting the cost in advance. Otherwise, you might be like the person who started a building project, but did not finish it.
